BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — One man is dead after a shooting in East Kern County.

According to KCSO the shooting took place shortly after 6 p.m in an unincorporated area of 14500 block of Caliente Creek Road.

Deputies located the victim with fatal gunshot wounds and a homicide investigation began.

There is no suspect information at this time, but the suspect and victim appear to be known to each other, according to KCSO.
