Man sentenced to 17 years in Boron baby death case

A man accused of murdering a one-year-old child was sentenced today to 17 years and 4 months in prison. 

Adam Parrish pleaded no contest last month to one count voluntary manslaughter and five counts of willful cruelty to a child.

Deputies from the Mojave and Boron substation responded on July 7th, 2010 after receiving a report of a child not breathing in the 2660 block of Prospect Avenue in Boron.

When deputies arrived, paramedics airlifted one-year-old Tristan Bramlett to Loma Linda Medical Center for treatment, police said.

Further investigation revealed the boy had sustained a head injury from an unknown source of trauma, deputies said.

As a result of the investigation, 23-year-old Stephanie Nicole Bramlett and her live-in-boyfriend, 25-year-old Adam Parrish, were arrested on charges of willful cruelty to a child.

Bramlett was sentenced to 10 years last month.
