The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that happened just after 5 PM on Saturday evening.

The shooting happened at the Camellia Garden Family Apartments in Southeast Bakersfield. Police arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower back.

The victim was transported to Kern Medical Center and is expected to survive. KCSO currently does not have anyone in custody.
