On Friday January 1, 2016, at about 2:12 a.m., Bakersfield Police Department officers responded to a possible single vehicle traffic collision in the 2700 block of University Avenue.
Officers located the collision and discovered the adult male driver and sole occupant was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.
