A man is behind bars and facing first-degree murder charges in connection to a deadly stabbing in Ridgecrest on Monday.
According to the Ridgecrest Police Department, officers responded to the area of South Warner Street and West Wilson Avenue on Monday after reports of a person down in the road. Dispatchers received multiple calls that the victim suffered stab wounds.
The victim was found and taken to a hospital where he later died.
Police arrested Steven Caldwell, who officials say was in an altercation with the victim and eventually stabbed them.
Caldwell was arrested and taken into custody.
He now faces first-degree murder charges. He's scheduled to be in court Thursday morning.
