BPD: Man steals phone out of child's hand

The Bakersfield Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance identifying and locating a suspect wanted for a strong-arm robbery.

On March 13, 2016 at about 4:25 p.m., a seven year old juvenile was sitting at a bus bench with her mother in the 2300 Blk. of White Ln.

A suspect walked up to them, grabbed the juvenile by the arm and stole a cellular phone out of the child’s hand.

The suspect fled in a vehicle northbound on Hughes from White Ln. 

The suspect is described as a black man, with short hair and it 5 feet 10 inches tall. He has a slim build and was last seen wearing a white shirt, black shorts and black shoes.

Police said that he drove off in a white Honda Accord, 4-door, possible partial plate “720H”
