The man hit by a car on Wednesday night during a protest down California Ave has died. Family members identified the victim to 23ABC as Robert Forbes, during a vigil tonight.

Forbes family says they still have not heard from BPD. They tell 23ABC they want justice.

Police say the driver was not driving under the influence. This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.
