BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Fire Department responded to an apartment unit that caught fire in South Bakersfield on Sunday morning.
According to BFD they arrived on scene shortly before 11 a.m. at 3015 Wilson Road.
A man in his late 60s was inside of the apartment when it happened and suffered third-degree burns on about 20 percent of his body. He was taken to the hospital.
The identity of the man has not been released and he was the only victim.
There was no damage to any other part of the apartment complex. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
