Westbound traffic on Highway 178 is backed up following a rollover crash on Highway 178. 

According to the California Highway Patrol the driver of a pickup truck, 63-year-old Don Templeton, lost control of his pickup truck, veered to the right, overcorrected and rolled over on the shoulder of the 178.

Templeton was ejected and pinned under his pickup for about 20 minutes.

He was transported to Kern Medical Center with major injuries.
