BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Two juveniles and a man were arrested Monday morning on carjacking and weapons charges.

Bakersfield Police were called to 3220 Stine Road a little after 9:30 a.m. for reports of a carjacking in a parking lot. The victim told officers the suspect was armed with a handgun.

Police say three hours later, the victim's vehicle was spotted in the 100 block of Bryant Street. Officers reported seeing two suspects driving the vehicle and the officers stopped them. A loaded .40-caliber handgun was found inside the car, according to police.

Both suspects in the car were juveniles and one of the suspects was "positively identified as the suspect who comitted the carjacking," according to police. One suspect was arrested on a carjacking charge, possession of a stolen vehicle and weapons violations. The other suspect was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and weapons charges. Both were taken to Juvenile Hall.

A search warrant was later executed at a home on Bryant Street and that's where two AR-15-style assault rifles and a stolen handgun were found and seized.

Police say Alfonso Gomez, 19, was arrested at the home for several weapons and possession of stolen property charges. He was taken to the Kern County jail.

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to call Bakersfield Police at 327-7111.
