BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man, who was crossing the street outside of the crosswalk in Northwest Bakersfield, was hit and killed by a pickup truck Thursday night.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, around 9:17 p.m. on April 25, officers were dispatched to the 10100 block of Rosedale Highway in Northwest Bakersfield for a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash.
When officers arrived, they learned a man was crossing the street, outside of the crosswalk, when he was struck by a pickup truck.
BPD says the woman who was driving the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
BPD says drugs, alcohol, and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash, however the investigation is ongoing.
The Kern County Coroner will release the identity of the man killed after his kin is notified.
