Man wanted in connection to shooting in September that killed one, injured four

Bakersfield Police is asking for the public's help in identifying a man wanted in connection to a shooting in September that left one person dead and four others injured. 

On Sept. 23, BPD received reports of "shots fired" at 1:40 a.m. from the parking lot at 818 Real Road in southwest Bakersfield.

When officers responded, they found two black men suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, Edwin Smith, was pronounced dead at the scene and another was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. Three additional gunshot victims were found during the investigation. They were also taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police are looking for the man in the pictures who is described as a black man, 5'7", 175 pounds, 20-25 years of age, wearing a white shirt and torn blue jeans.
