The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating what they're calling a "suspicious death" in Downtown Bakersfield on Wednesday morning.

BPD officers were called to the area of Truxtun and V Street just after 6 a.m.

They found a man's body laying in front of a yard. Police say the man was in his 50s.

Right now police aren't sure if foul play was involved, but they're calling the death suspicious because of the location and positioning of the man's body. Police say they didn't notice any obvious signs of trauma.
