50 years to the day after Cesar Chavez began leading 75 Latino and Filipino farm workers on a trek from Delano to Sacramento, marchers who participated gathered in Delano to celebrate the anniversary.
Over one hundred people came out to participate in Catholic mass and a celebration of the historic 340-mile march from Delano to Sacramento that placed the grievances of farm workers at the feet of the state's government.
Many of the those who marched alongside Cesar Chavez were in attendance, and many of those who have passed away were represented by their families.
The celebration also featured the mayor of Delano presenting the key to the city to the marchers.
