BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Marley's Mutt's Dog Rescue non-profit organization will be heading to the White House Thursday for an event held by President Donald Trump and the Office of American Innovation according to email shared with 23ABC News.

According to the founder of the Marley's Mutt's Dog Rescue, Zach Skow, the"Pawsitive Change"program is what led to the invitation to the White House.

Skow said the event will focus on second chance hiring for paroled inmates, as well as programming to help lower recidivism.

According to Skow, the "Pawsitive Change" program was developed three and a half years ago and it's an innovative and progressive program that pairs incarcerated men with rescued dogs for mutual rehabilitation.

Skow said he hopes to make the "Pawsitive Change" program available nation wide.
