According to the McFarland Unified School District, schools were placed on a brief lockdown this afternoon, following a notification that the Kern County Sheriff's Office was executing a warrant in the community.
The District said in a Facebook post that the lockdown was called in the abundance of caution and was lifted as soon as KCSO gave the District a signal of 'all clear'.
