BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Monday night, the Measure N committee made recommendations to Bakersfield city staff on the proposed budget utilizing projected funds from the new one-cent sales tax going into effect today.
The city is projecting almost 60-million dollars in revenue and has already allocated funds to a variety of initiatives within the Measure N guidelines.
Here is the 2019-2020 proposed budget:

Recreation and Parks $12,137,289
Development Services Department $14,734,472
Arena/Convention Center $2,353,548
Support Services $2,459,051
Public Works $1,100,000
Total Proposed Allocations $56,491,685
The City Council is scheduled to vote on the proposed budget June 28, 2019.
