BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield City Council is opting to go back to the drawing board to fill the vacancy on the Measure N Oversight Committee.
The City Manager saying on Wednesday at a city council meeting that there are two options moving forward, selecting a replacement from the finalists from the applicant pool or start a new pool of people.
The vice mayor motioned to create a new pool of applicants because there may be people who are interested in being involved that didn't know about the committee before. That motion was unanimously approved by council.
The new recruitment process will allow all eligible individuals to submit an application with a new appointment process to be conducted at a future meeting.
