BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — May is Mental Health Awareness Month and multiple events are taking place throughout Kern County to spread awareness.

One of those campaigns is "Wear Green Save Green". If anyone wears a green ribbon to twelve of the locations picked, you can get a discount. This campaign helps bring up the conversation about the importance of mental health.

On Tuesday, May 21st, a community meet and greet will be taking place at The Mark. The "MET" team will be answering questions about what they do to keep the community safe.

The “Mobile Evaluation Team” is often the mental health first responders in Kern County. They work in partnership with local law enforcement to intervene in situations where Mental Health issues might make a 911 call more challenging or even more dangerous for those involved.
