Parents and students spoke out moments before Monday night’s Kern High School District board meeting, demanding a return to both high school athletics and in class instruction. Many saying without both, it could be detrimental to mental health.

Following the protest, 23ABC spoke with the Director of Student Behavior and Support with KHSD and he says they have seen a bit of an increase in students seeking help since the start of this pandemic. He wants students to know that there are resources available for those in need.

Here is a list of resources available that are listed in the video:

Along with these resources, KHSD will be holding a zoom meeting for parents on Wednesday and Thursday night. It will include tips on navigating through this pandemic. If you'd like to attend you must register: https://www.kernhigh.org/apps/events/2020/10/6/8494640/?REC_ID=8494640&id=0
