A downtown Bakersfield restaurant has been shut down due to a roach and vermin infestation.

According to Kern County Public Health, the Ming's Cafe on Service Street was shut down on Tuesday after roaches and unapproved chemicals used to treat the roaches were found at the restaurant.

An inspection shows there was also debris on the floor and walls throughout the kitchen, on walls, and the ceiling of a walk-in refrigerator. The inspection shows that 16 cans of Raid were found in the kitchen and chemicals were stored next to a sink.
