Mobile home damaged in fire in California City

California City Fire Rescue officials said a Saturday morning fire damaged a mobile home on Morning Glory Drive.

 
Cal City Fire Rescue officials said at around 10:15 am , they were dispatched to a reinforced
structure fire at 353 Morning Glory Dr.
Multiple callers told fire crws that they saw  heavy smoke coming from under a mobile home.
 
Cal City's Medic Engine 190, Patrol 190 and Chief 190 responded to the incident. 
 
Kern County Fire Department, officers from California City PD, and a standby ambulance
from Hall Ambulance Service assisted with the fire. 
 
According to Cal City Fire, when ME190 arrived on scene in less than five minutes, they found find heavy smoke coming from underneath a double wide mobile home.
 
Cal City Firefighters immediately went into an offensive fire attack and aggressively searched for the fire. Inside the residence, firefighters used the thermal imaging camera to locate the fire which was under the
mobile home and inside the walls.
 
Firefighters removed the skirting around the building and had the fire knocked down in less than 30 minutes.
 
Firefighting efforts were significantly hampered by hoarding conditions and poor access to the underside of the building. 
 
Cal City Fire officials said that there were no civilian or firefighter injuries from the incident.
 
Officials added that the fire damage was estimated at $15,000.
 
The mobile home may be a total loss based on age and suppression efforts.
 
The fire remains under investigation and has been assigned to the Arson Unit.
