Mojave standoff suspect sentenced to six years in prison

A man involved in a June 2016 standoff in Mojave was sentenced Tuesday to six years in prison.

Roger Tils pled no contest to assault with a firearm on a person and resisting arrest. The charges of assault on a person with force causing great bodily injury and damage to a wireless communication device were dropped.

Tils was taken in to custody in mid-June following a SWAT standoff at a residence. Tils was intoxicated and become upset with his girlfriend, firing two shots at her, according to KCSO.
