Time is winding down for residents to register to vote in the California primary taking place on June 7th.
Republican voters don't have much of a choice between candidates, but democratic voters can choose between front runner Hillary Clinton or Senator Bernie Sanders.
There are also many other races happening in Kern County. Locals will vote for judges, county supervisors, state representatives as well as a number of propositions.
As of April 8th, only 66 percent of eligible voters in Kern County are registered. Registered voters can only take part in the California primary if they are registered as republican, democratic or no party preference.
Independents or any other party affiliation may not vote in the upcoming primary.
The deadline to register is Monday May 23, 2016 by 11:59 p.m. residents can register online here.
