More California voters are choosing to register as "no party preference", according to new numbers by the Secretary of State.
Since February, about 5.5 million residents in the state registered without party preference. That number is nearly up 20% since October 2016.
According to this data, the number of registered Democrats has declined by about 110,000 since the 2016 election. Republican registrants are also on the decline with the party seeing a drop by about 340,000.
