Mosquito fogging advisory issued for Delano neighborhood following two new West Nile Virus cases

DELANO, Calif. — The Delano Mosquito Abatement District announced that it will be conducting an Ultra Low Volume fogging in the Terrace Drive neighborhood this Thursday night.

Officials confirmed that the fogging will effect around 70 homes in the area. According to the district, the fogging will specifically take place on the street and any back alleys nearby at 11 p.m.

The district said it detected an increase in number of mosquitoes in the Terrace Drive neighborhood.

Last week, officials said the total number of human West Nile Virus cases are up to three for 2019. The first human case of the virus was reported in Kern County was on August 23.

According to WestNile.ca.gov , the state's website that tracks the West Nile Virus, two new human cases were reported Friday.
