A mother and her five children have been displaced after their home caught fire in Oildale on Monday morning.
According to Kern County Fire crews, the house on Arvin Street caught fire around 4:45 a.m. Crews were called to the scene where they found the home engulfed in flames.
All six people in the home were able to make it out safely. One person suffered minor injuries, but refused treatment.
KCFD says they believe a heating appliance may have malfunctioned, leading to the blaze.
