BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — One person is dead after a motorcycle crash in northwest Bakersfield Sunday afternoon.

The Bakersfield Police Department said a motorcycle and car collided at the intersection of Brimhall Road and Calloway Drive just before 2 p.m.

First responders attempted life-saving measures on the operator of the motorcycle when they arrived but the person died on scene.

As of 3:15 p.m. Sunday, the entire intersection is shut down.

It's unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
