There were numerous road closures due to mud and water-covered roadways in outlying areas south of Arvin and Lamont. Yesterday's storm brought light rain here in the valley, but heavier rain in the mountains eventually made it's way down to the valley, causing flooding problems.

The Kern County Roads Department have been working since last night, and most of the day today to clear the mud off the roads. The roads are not expected to reopen until tomorrow.
