BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The California Highway Patrol and Kern County Fire Department are on the scene of a multi-vehicle crash that blocked lanes on Interstate 5 near Lost Hills on Wednesday morning.
The crash was reported shortly before 10 a.m. on southbound I-5, just south of Main Drain Road, according to the CHP’s traffic incident information page.
Witnesses reported that approximately six to seven vehicles were involved. CHP said several people were hurt in the major-injury accident.
Multiple ambulances were dispatched to the incident. An air ambulance also responded.
At one point, multiple lanes on I-5 were blocked as authorities and firefighters responded to the crash. The lanes were back open shortly before noon, according to the CHP's page.
