The effects of the air strike and subsequent violence in Syria can be felt here in Kern County.

Ollie Zachary, president of the Islamic Shoura Council of Bakersfield, says leadership in Syria and surrounding countries is causing the violence.

"People have to understand that the Muslim world is in such turmoil, they have bad people leading the charge over there," Zachary said.

"They all need to go. They all need to go because nobody is willing to take care of our own people there."

Zachary says Syria is the country that grabs the spotlight, but other Muslim countries are in dire situations as well. He added that he can't believe other Muslim countries won't help the countries that are struggling.

"It is shocking, it's amazing, it's appauling that none of our Muslim countries, especially in the gulf, they are so rich, none of them have opened the door to them."
