BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Lebron James just passed Kobe Bryant for third most point in the NBA.

James scored the historic layup in the third quarter against the Philidelphia 76ers Saturday night to solidify himself behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone for the third most points scored in the NBA.

The Lakers are on the road in Philidelphia, where James entered the game needing 18 points to pass Bryant's mark of 33,643 points.

A slashing drive to the lane will go down as a moment in history as James soared through the air laying the ball in.

The milestone earned him a standing ovation on the road with Philadelphia fans cheering his name.

In 2019, James passed Chicago superstar Michael Jordan.
