Nearly 50 high school and college students will be graduating on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from an innovative academy that focuses on increasing awareness about the energy and agriculture industries according to the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
The program, which was made possible by a partnership between Chevron, the Kern County Chamber of Commerce, Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Business & Education Foundation and Bakersfield College as well as several other industry sponsors and partners benefited students enrolled in Bakersfield College and high school students interested in pursuing STEM related careers.
Graduates will each receive a financial stipend for completing the program.
The graduation will take place at Aera Energy at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 9.
