Neighbors in a southwest Bakersfield apartment complex say they are worried about their safety after a string of recent break-ins.
In the last week there were two break-ins in broad daylight. The neighbors say they have called police but no one has been arrested.
Denise Rehana and Angel Mejia both had their apartments broken into. They say the problem is a group of transients that set up a place to live in a garage and an empty apartment in the complex.
They say they’ve also contacted their landlord for help with security at the complex, but they say they haven’t been helped.
23ABC reached out to the owners of the complex but have not heard back.
BPD says they are investigating. Anyone with information on the break-ins is asked to call BPD.
