UPDATE: (8:00 a.m.) According to Getty Museum Twitter, The Getty Center is closed to the public today. The fire is northeast of the Getty Center and east of the San Diego Freeway. Air filtration systems are protecting the galleries from smoke. We continue to monitor the situation and will issue updates as we have them.

UPDATE: (7:10 a.m.) According to Los Angeles Mayor: 405 is closed in the Sepulveda Pass due to #SkirballFire east of the freeway. 220 Firefighters on scene. Mandatory evacuation for area East of the 405 Fwy, South of Mulholland Dr., West of Roscomare Rd. & North of Sunset Blvd.

Around 5 a.m. we learned reports of a 10-acre fire burning near the Getty Museum. All North Bound lanes of the 405 are closed in the area.
