Both officers are now home recovering.
========================================
The investigation into the officer involved shooting is ongoing and both officers are recovering from their injuries.
Officer Johnson has been released from the hospital and Officer Deutinger is still receiving medical treatment.
At this time investigators were able to confirm that Officer Johnson was struck three times: once on the left bicep, once on the left side of his chest, and once to the front of his right hip.
The round that struck Officer Johnson’s chest was stopped by his protective vest, and the round that struck his right hip was stopped by his duty belt. Officer Deutinger was struck on the left side of his face as well as his left elbow.
The firearm that was recovered from the scene is registered to the suspect, and is of a different caliber than the firearms carried by the officers. It’s still uncertain as to how many rounds were fired by the suspect and the officers.
