On June 17th, Amtrak San Joaquin will inaugurate their new 7th Daily Round Trip -- adding an additional daily round trip train service between Bakersfield and Oakland’s Jack London Square Station -- making it more convenient for passengers to travel between the Bay Area, San Joaquin Valley cities, and other destinations throughout California.
With a growing population, growing economy, increasing congestion on our roads, and environmental impacts from car travel, enhancing service on the Amtrak San Joaquin line is a critical investment in our transportation system.
They will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. Friday at the Bakersfield Amtrak Station.
