SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Governor Newsom today announced relaxed criteria for counties that wish to move into stage two of reopening faster than the rest of the state.
County hospitalization rates of COVID-19 patients can not increase more than 5 percent over 7 days or nor more than 20 COVID hospitalizations on any single day in the past 14 days.
There must be less than 25 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents over the last 14 days or less than 8% testing positive.
A county's daily testing capacity must reach 1.5 tests per 1,000 residents.
There must be a testing availability for at least 75% of residents.
There must be sufficient contact tracing to help a patient recall everyone they had close contact with in a given time frame.
Counties must be able to accommodate a minimum surge of 35% due to COVID-19 cases.
Laslty, counties must have a plan to mitigate infections in skilled nursing facilities.
