Bakersfield Police has announced their next DUI checkpoint. It will take place Saturday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.

During the checkpoint, officers will be checking for alcohol or drug impairment which could include prescription drug or marijuana use. Officers will also be checking drivers for proper licensing.

According to BPD in the past three years, 26 people have died due to DUI crashes.
