Sergeant Dennis Moore memorial dinner raises $40,000

UPDATE (November 2, 2017 12:00 p.m.): The Kern County 999 Foundation and Motor City Lexus of Bakersfield raised about $40,000 at the memorial dinner for Sergeant Dennis Moore yesterday, November 1, 2017. 

All of the money raised at the dinner will be donated to the sergeants family. 

The Derek Carr jersey that was signed by the Oakland Raider was sold for about $2,000.

Kern County 999 Foundation and Motor City Lexus of Bakersfield are held a memorial dinner for the late Sergeant Dennis Moore on Thursday.

The dinner was to celebrate the life of Sgt. Moore, who passed away from a heart attack in August while getting ready for work.

The memorial dinner was held from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Lexus of Bakersfield located at 5101 Gasoline Alley Drive.

There was live music, raffles, and a live auction as well. 

Bakersfield Police are holding their 35th annual Memorial Run at Riverwalk Park this Saturday.
