BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Thomas Roads Improvement Program has announced a nighttime ramp closure impacting parts of highway 58 and 99.

According to TRIP, "The loop on-ramp from westbound State Route 58 to southbound State Route 99 will be closed tonight, August 13, to allow for the installation of shoring for the widening of the westbound bridge across State Route 99."

Officials say the closure is expected to be in place between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Westbound drivers who want to continue south on the 99 will be detoured at Union Avenue.
