No injuries reported after armed robber fires shot inside McDonald's, KCSO investigating

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that happened at the McDonald's on Merle Haggard Drive near Highway 99 Thursday night.

According to KCSO officials, deputies received a call around 9:15 p.m. Thursday for reports of an armed robbery. KCSO said two men entered the McDonald's with their faces covered. One was armed with a shotgun and demanded money from the clerks.

Officials said one of the men fired a shot into the ceiling, but no one was injured. The suspects took off before deputies arrived.

Four employees and two customers were inside during the incident, according to officials.

KCSO said the suspects were last seen in a silver car leaving the scene.
