BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — North of the River Recreation and Park District is reminding residents that fireworks of any kind are prohibited at all 24 of its parks and community centers.
NOR says its mission is to provide recreation programs and facilities for the benefit of the North of the River community. They also encourage all families to enjoy the Fourth of July holiday safely and reminds the community to be mindful of all laws concerning use of fireworks, regardless of where they are celebrating.
In a news release, NOR's General Manager Monya Jameson said:
“The safety of all families enjoying our parks is of paramount importance to us. In addition to the possibility of injuries, fireworks create a significant fire hazard."
