On Wednesday morning residents in Weldon might be rattled as fighter jets are set to buzz the area.

North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, will be conducting tests starting at 9:30 a.m. with fighter jets.

NORAD jets typically conduct simulations as they test different scenarios, including airspace restriction violations, hijackings and responding to unknown aircraft.

NORAD says today's test will see fighter jets fly close to civilian aircraft, "which will take on the role of an aircraft of interest."

The test is set to run from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
