The North Kern Cemetery District had over $60,000 stolen sometime between July 2013 and November 2014, according to a police report.
During a normal year, the district receives over $250,000 in cash receipts. In 2013 and 2014, some receipts were never deposited.
There was also a dispute over the land deeded to the district and with a neighboring farmer.
