The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct a closure tonight on Southbound State Route 204 between Airport Drive and State Route 99 in Bakersfield for drilling operations.

The closure will take place beginning tonight at 10 p.m. until Friday, September 2 at 4 a.m., weather permitting, and will include the following:

• Northbound SR 204 will be closed from Airport Drive to SR 99. A detour will be made available for Northbound SR 204 traffic utilizing Airport Drive and Olive Drive to continue on Northbound SR 99.
• The on-ramps to Northbound SR 204 from Airport Drive will be closed.
• The right lane on Northbound SR 99 will be closed from SR 204 to the Olive Drive exit.
• The right lane on Southbound SR 99 traffic will be closed from Olive Drive to the SR 204 connector, but Southbound SR 99 traffic will still be able to access SR 204.
• The Southbound SR 99 on-ramp from Eastbound Olive Drive will be closed.
