Bakersfield Police responded to the 5000 block of Fairfax Road just before midnight on Saturday after receiving calls for shots fired.

Authorities said two people were shot at with a high-powered rifle.

However the victims were not struck by the gunfire.

According to BPD, the suspect, 31-year-old Myron Johnson, fled the scene but was later located.

Johnson was found with two firearms, one of which officials believe was used in the shooting.

He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and numerous firearm related charges.

Johnson is being held on $170,000 bail and is due in court Tuesday afternoon.
