and last updated

Behind a strong offensive performance, France beat Croatia 4-2 to win the 2018 Fifa World Cup championship.

France took a 2-1 lead in the first half, and kept adding to that lead in the second half.

In the 59th minute, Paul Pogba put the ball in the back of the net, and in the 65th minute, 19-year-old Kylian Mbappe scored a goal as well.

Croatia tried to rally back with a goal from Mario Mandzukic in the 69th minute, but the comeback stopped there. France held on to earn their second World Cup.

The first championship came in 1998 against Brazil.
