The shots fired by officers in the August 2016 shooting of Francisco Villarreal have been justified, according to the DA’s Office.
The incident happened on August 17. All five officers fired on multiple occasions in response to Villarreal trying to kill three of them,
The shootings were said to be done in self-defense.
The officers involved in a Southeast Bakersfield officer-involved shooting were Senior Officer Shane Shaff, Officer Brady Barber, Officer Brockett Mueller, Officer Steven Mayberry, and Officer Brianna Pace.
