A Tulare police officer was hit in his Kevlar helmet Thursday during a standoff with a suspect who shot his significant other and his baby girl earlier that morning, ABC30 in Fresno reported.

The suspect , Larry Zamora, shot at his significant other and their 9-month old baby before hiding in a home several miles away, according to authorities.

The suspect is being surrounded at a home on Lynora Street near Hillcrest Avenue and has shot at law enforcement multiple times.

The woman and the baby are in critical condition. Sheriff Mike Boudreaux was taken to the hospital, treated, and released.
